Parenting Consultations
Supporting children involves supporting the systems in which they grow. For this reason, we consider parent consultation to be a critical component of our services.

Challenging behaviour is often a sign of an unmet need or an undeveloped skill. At its core, all behaviour is a form of communication. In a parent consultation, we help you identify what is beneath your child’s difficult behaviour. We will create strategies to support you and your child to cope with their challenges in more effective ways and teach you evidence-based methods that will help you meet your child’s behavioural needs.
-
Emotions are an innate function of our survival and provide us with the information that we need in order to make decisions quickly and efficiently. However, emotions may present as either big or small, helpful or unhelpful, manageable or unpredictable. In a parent consultation, we help you respond to your child’s specific emotional needs and give you the tools you need to grow in tandem with your child.
We support parents to better manage anxiety, low mood, explosive anger, and boredom.

Learning that your child has a mental health, learning, or developmental diagnosis may mean that you are navigating unchartered territories. In a parent consultation, we help you understand new diagnoses and support you in implementing skills and strategies that are in the best interest of your child and their development.
We commonly work with parents to better understand the function and impact of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, and mental health conditions.
