Milina Capoccitti
REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST, QUALIFYING
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I provide treatment to adolescents and adults.
Therapy doesn’t have to feel scary. I promise, I’m pretty normal
My name is Milina, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a long-standing passion for this work—one I’ve been intentionally working toward for over a decade. Being a therapist is something I feel deeply connected to, and I take seriously the trust and vulnerability it requires to begin opening up to someone new. My role is to meet you with honesty, warmth, and respect, and to build a relationship where you feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported.
Collaborative, honest, and human
My style is collaborative and grounded in real human connection. I show up as my authentic self (humour included) because I believe therapy works best when both people in the room can be real with each other. You will never be met with coldness or formality; instead, I offer a space where honesty, care, and compassion guide our work. Together, we will explore the patterns that shape your thoughts, emotions, and relationships, while making room for the values and strengths that matter most to you. My therapeutic approach is routed in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and pulls from elements of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed practice. I pull from each of these modalities in a way that fits you, your goals, your pace, and your unique experiences.
Who I support
I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults, with a special interest in helping you navigate the messy, overwhelming, and transformative stages of growing up. Many of my clients come to therapy seeking support with anxiety and overthinking, depression, transitions and identity changes, self-doubt and perfectionism, relationship stress, emotion regulation, low self-esteem and feeling “not enough”. I also value working with adults across all life stages and hold deep respect for the richness of adult experiences including career shifts, relationship changes, guilt, parenting, burnout, grief, re-discovering yourself later in life, and so much more. My door is open to clients of any age who want a thoughtful, grounded, and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
More about me and my education
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and an Honours Specialization Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Western University. While I was a student, I worked in the mental health sector as an administrative lead and intake coordinator. I spent years working in mental health settings, building relationships, engaging in research, and developing a deep understanding of assessment, anxiety, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based psychotherapy. This foundation continues to shape the intentional, reflective, and well-informed work I do with each client.
When I’m not in session, you can usually find me reading with a coffee in hand, trying my best to keep up in a Pilates class, spending time with the people I love, or discovering a new restaurant serving something delicious. I believe joy, connection, and humour are essential parts of life and I bring that spirit into my work as well.
