Maria Diaz

INTAKE COORDINATOR

Hello, hola!

My name is Maria Diaz and I am an Intake Coordinator at The Thought Centre.

Taking the first step

Reaching out for support can be difficult; it takes great courage and is a crucial step toward achieving your personal goals. As an intake coordinator, I will be your first point of contact, ready to welcome you and address any questions you may have about our practice, our services, or our team’s approach.

I will connect with you to discuss your concerns and learn about your goals, ensuring that I match you with a member of our team who can best meet your needs. We recognize that your journey is unique to you, and we are committed to connecting you with a clinician who can offer you the personalized support you deserve.

I am fluent in both English and Spanish, and I am happy to assist you in the language that makes you most comfortable - just let me know!

A bit about me

I recently graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Ethics, Society & Law. I’ve contributed to research in clinical and cognitive neuroscience, with experience in neuropsychological test scoring, eye-tracking, and qualitative analysis through the Rotman Research Institute and Unity Health’s ASR Suicide & Depression Program.

I’ve worked in community mental health settings, volunteered as a crisis responder, and led survivor-centered initiatives on campus. I’m deeply passionate about trauma-informed, accessible care and about bridging clinical work with research that makes a real-world impact.
